My friend – a VP in a leading Business house – asked a slightly unusual question. He is planning to take a 3 month break and wanted to check, what would be the implication of this break on his job chances, when he chooses to return to work. I told him, it would be nil. And congratulated him on taking such a brave decision.

Brave because it is not easy to let your peers move ahead of you in this ultra competitive career race.

But, allowing our mind to rest un-disturbed by the mundane urgencies of our career, can help us in getting a grip back on our true selves and leanings. Otherwise these tend to get buried and lost as we busy ourselves in moving up the ladder.

Wonderful decision! It has set me thinking on similar lines.

what say you?
