The End of Mass

Seths post of yesterday speaks about the end of Mass. Mass as we know it is dying. Though it does’nt appear so. the TV and the channels are ubiquitous . there are only 3-4 channels which come to mind. but step back and you see – the slow movement from 1 to 4 well known now and 100s of other channels targeting a specific audience.

With the kind of tools at our disposal – 5 years from now a TV channel might have a few 100 people and still be successful. though it might not be called a TV channel – and you might not be watching it on your current T and perhaps not even in your living room.

Seth has been speaking about this shift towards mass customization for a few years now. I look forward to lay hands on his new book – we are all Weird  soon.
