Calvin and the Snowman

Calvins humorous take on the Mediocrity bug that seems to be very prevalent in this part of the world.

But I am not sure if I agree with the definition of Mediocrity used here.

The question is are high marks at school the only barometer for excellence. A student might have average marks in the usual subjects but might be an excellent artist or a sportsperson. Is he/she mediocre?

Actually I would like to go with Calvin when he says” Thats why I stopped doing Homework”. I guess thats a spunky answer which needs to be appreciated in a child.

But, we as parents would rather that he did the homework, did not get punished at class and went through school staying out of trouble.

Which is mediocre?
